Patient participation group
Some of our patients are finding difficulty in adjusting to the way we are forced into running the surgery. We, like you want the very best GP care for all of our patients. We need your help and advice:
Like the rest of the NHS, General practice is under tremendous pressure and in Downton we are feeling this too. In order for us to be able to provide the safest, most effective care, we are having to prioritise more urgent cases at some times.
We are working about 25% harder than ever before with lower staffing ratios at a time when the pandemic is making things harder for all of us. The people with the power to change this are our politicians, underfunding for the last ten years is taking its toll - we advise speaking to your MP. We are gathering people to our patient participation group (PPG) in the coming weeks, as you are not alone in perhaps hoping we could do things differently and the staff here feel likewise. Together we will find the best way forward despite the adverse pressure contributed to by NHS England and the government.
The email below now works! - please send your feedback here and we'll do what we can to compile it and feed this back here.
We would like to know how we can improve our service to you and how you perceive our surgery and staff.
To help us with this, we have set up a patient representation group so that you can have your say. We will ask the members of this representative group some questions from time to time, such as what you think about our opening times or the quality of the care or service you received. We will contact you via email and keep our surveys succinct so it shouldn’t take too much of your time.
We aim to gather around a hundred patients from as broad a spectrum as possible to get a truly representative sample. We need young people, workers, retirees, people with long term conditions and people from non-British ethnic groups.
If you are happy for us to contact you occasionally by email please click the link below to open the sign-up form and complete all the fields.
If you prefer, you can download the sign up form as a pdf document, print it out, complete it and return it to the practice.
We will be in touch shortly after we receive your form. Please note that no medical information or questions will be responded to.
Many thanks for your assistance
